We must take immediate businesslike action to limit climate change to
2 degrees C, not for ourselves, but for future generations.

Candidates ...

Mayo By-Election September 2008 ...

Rachael Barons is our candidate for the  Mayo by election.   She is 28 years old, works in administration and is studying at university.  Rachael was the candidate for Mayo at the 2007 Federal election.

"I campaigned on the water crisis at the last Federal election 2007 and I am campaigning on the water crisis again because, in my opinion, no one in Parliament is doing anything about it.  Everyone is talking about inquires, audits and committees, while the water shortage keeps getting worse.

Action has to be taken now !

I will get Federal legislation to guarantee our fair and rightfull share of water immediately and for The Lakes and Coorong to receive the water they need now. The Lakes are a microcosm of what is happening to our water supply that will eventually affect all South Australians.  The legislation will require compulsory acquisition of water from the other states to secure a permanent water supply for all South Australians".

Federal General Election November 2007 ...

Senate - New South Wales

Richard McNeall, is an engineer, kayaker, company director and family man from northwestern Sydney - a traditional liberal voter who kicked-off this project out of sheer frustration with both the major and minor parties after a fruitless round of letter writing and politician visiting.

He is an honours engineering graduate whose first position was Rheem engineer on the Solar Evacuated Tube joint development project with Sydney University from 1985-87.  A later spell as Mobil Sales Engineer for large commercial customers in the Port Kembla region , showed that, in the mainstream energy business, pricing is everything !

Currently, Richard is a director of three engineering businesses all of which make a significant contribution to reducing our energy consumption, including component friction reduction and life extension, mechanical system maintenance optimisation and variable flow fume extraction.

Richard and his family have an ongoing project to save CO2, and, and as of early 2007, have a mostly native garden, no air conditioning, solar hot water, hybrid car, water efficiency, efficient lighting, clean energy etc.  The office/factory have just had an energy audit, and there is still much to do there.

David Maxfield makes our NSW Senate ticket possibly the only all-engineering senate ticket in 2007.  David, an Engineer with over 30 years experience mainly in the critical transport sector, brings a much-needed clear thinking approach to climate and the environment.

Usually a Liberal voter but  "I was alarmed by climate change and I could not find a non left-wing political party with good environmental policies or a party with good environmental policies which did not have some radical, unacceptable policies.  Conservatives for Climate and Environment fits the bill".

Steve Raskovy, an Olympic Wrestler (Tokyo 1964), reflects the diversity and energy of Conservatives for Climate and Environment.  Steve has been a tireless contributor to the community for decades.  Steve has founded over a dozen sporting clubs, served as President on numerous voluntary bodies, and has been awarded the Order of Australia Medal.  More recently Steve has been working with his local community on environmental issues.  Steve's motivation in standing as Senator for CFCE is to show that a well-ordered society  does not necessarily conflict with environment and the desire to leave a better future for those generations that succeed us.

Viesha Lewand (In her own words) ... I came across this party while browsing the internet and thought that this was another great way to tackle CLIMATE CHANGE.  When I was asked to stand for the Senate I knew that fate was drawing me to help save the planet!
Why preach to the converted through the ALP?  I've been voting for the GREENS for several years now but have seen very little results.
Which party or person in government actually really does anything positive to fight climate change and look after the future of our children and grandchildren?
With this party we will be in a strong position to influence the people who run the country's major polluting industries.  We will be able to influence the parent and grandparent side of these leaders rather than constantly battle the business side to their nature alone.
As a woman who I believe can see many sides to an argument - and every argument and logic has one - I believe I can bring in sanity and leadership styles strongly in my own way.
I am a past member of the ALP and have voted for the Greens for the last few years as I have been trying to save the planet by voting for them.  Other candidates standing for the Conservatives for Climate and Environment come from different political backgrounds and ethnic groups but in our own unique way we want to do SOMETHING strong and positive to save our environment and climate.  Help us.
I have a very strong urge to save the world and planet and these urges far outweigh any business dealings I will ever make.
I hope you can join me in making this party a success in every way and also to help formulate new policies which encompass our financial needs as a whole but also will leave a world to our grandchildren which is healthy and abundant - and unpolluted.

Doug Henderson, our candidate for Farrer, is a refrigeration technician and electrical fitter, self-employed for over 25 years.  He is currently designing solar and wind refrigeration systems for his own company, and has lately been finalising designs for solar and wind drop in reverse cycle air conditioners with automation systems, drinking water and drip systems from condensate water.  He sees laws concerning cfc, hcfc and natural gas refrigerants need to be amended and renewable energy projects need to be pushed through planning faster than the present nine months it can takes to even read an application.  He sees that engineers are needed in parliament, as are ministers who are specialists in their fields.  The Farrer electorate is a good place to start, and his first project is to really get behind the Epuron 500 wind farm project for Broken Hill.

Goronwy Price, our candidate for Warringah, has spent 30 years involved with the Environment.

Goronwy led the first Australian expediton to the North face of Everest and the first rafting decent of the Tsangpo, the World highest river as well as countless other adventures in the wild and beautiful corners of the world. He helped organise the first Fleet ReEnactment project, highlight of Australia's Bicentennial celebrations.

In 1975 Goronwy founded the adventure travel company World Expeditions and built it to be the Worlds largest adventure organisation. He is currently Managing Director of a successful software exporter.

Rachael Barons is our candidate for Mayo, the seat held by Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.  Rachael is at university and has worked at a variety of jobs while studying for a Bachelor of Arts.   She is 27 years old.   She was a candidate for Liberals for Forests in the Senate in South Australia at the last federal election and believes the deforestation of native old growth forests is a major contributor to climate change.

"There is a water shortage crisis in South Australia and nothing is being done to secure South Australia's water supply.   I want federal legislation to guarantee South Australians get their fair share of water from Australia's water resources.   I believe South Australia needs a representative in parliament who is dedicated to securing South Australia's water supply for all South Australians immediately."
